Premarital Sex

1 Corinthians 6:16 (King James Version)16“What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.“
Paul wrote that almost 2000 years ago. Yet, it was not until recently that science has discovered two chemicals secreted by the Pituitary gland and the brain that actually increase trust, reduce fear, and form a monogamous pair bond between a couple participating in copulation. Oxytocin is produced by both the male and female, but it is the Oxytocin that creates this chemical bond in the female, and it is Vasopressin that creates the bond in the male. This means that there is no such thing as “casual” sex without ties. The ties are created involuntarily in the individual’s mind by the chemicals secreted in the mind during a sexual act. It doesn’t matter if a person considers their partner to be someone that they could marry, or if they consider the other person as someone they would never marriage. The chemical bond in the mind is established through the sexual act, causing the person to be, thereafter, attracted and tied to the other person. This causes many to marry the other person, against their own better judgment, because of the emotional ties felt for the person, which leads to an incompatible and unhappy marriage. This, also, means that homo-sapiens were created emotionally and chemically to be monogamous, and not to seek many partners.
Dopamine is, also, produced during the sex act. This creates a feeling of euphoria, or a felling of peace and joy. Hence, it begins to form an addiction to sex, in order to recreate that euphoric feeling. The unhappier or more dissatisfied a person is, the more they feel the need for that fix of euphoria created by the emission of Dopamine.
Another problem created by premarital sex is that the more often the “monogamous pair bond” is created and then destroyed by changing partners, the less effective it is in creating a subsequent bond. Therefore, if a person has had a number of sex partners before marriage, it may be impossible for the chemical pair bond to develop with their marriage partner. This, of course, leaves the marriage partners feeling disconnected with their partner, even though they may be connected emotionally by mutual respect and love. In other words, this lack of connection can contribute to a weaker marriage, that often times dissolves under pressure, injuring each member of that family.
If premarital sex can cause a person to marry someone completely unsuitable for them, or cause them not to be able to create a monogamous pair bond between them and their spouse which is necessary for a strong marriage, then it should be obvious; that abstinence will help a person to find their compatible marriage partner, and will cause a monogamous pair bond to grow between them and their partner after marriage.
Now that the sexual revolution has done its damage in creating a permissive society, it is time to begin a moral revival in order to repair the damage caused, to correct the problem itself and to revitalize our nation. “Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all things will be added unto you.”
2 Chron. 7:14 In God’s word he states, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Practicing premarital sex sows the seed for failure in one’s life. Seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness sows the seed of success and victory in our lives. We needn’t sacrifice our future for a fleeting moment of pleasure. The choice should be obvious.
