The Lord’s Prayer

Is the Lord’s Prayer first and foremost a prayer for spiritual power? When asked where the Kingdom of God was, Jesus replied that it is within us. So, when We pray, “Thy Kingdom come”, aren’t we really asking that God’s kingdom be established within us as Jesus said. And when we pray, “Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven,” aren’t we praying that His love, forgiveness, and healing should be manifested through us to the rest of the world?

Jesus referred to bread as the word of God many times. So, when we pray, “give us this day our daily bread”, aren’t we asking for God’s word. Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them with your truth. Your word is truth.” We are, then, asking to be sanctified through His word.

Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,” is easy to understand. Jesus made it clear many times that we could not be forgiven unless we forgave others, and in forgiving, then we are forgiven.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” seems plain enough. We are asking not to be tempted into sin, or delivered into Satan’s bondage.

Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these things will be added unto you.” I believe The Lord’s Prayer has all to do with obtaining all our spiritual needs from God, and when we achieve that, all our physical or earthly needs will be met.

Paul wrote that, “In the latter days, men will be holding on to a form of Godliness, but denying its true power.” I believe that the bulk of Christianity has been put off by the antics of those who want, but only pretend, to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit. For that reason many in Christianity shun anything spiritual, and only hold on to the promise of salvation.

I, too, believe that some people, in their quest for the spirit, simply pretend, in hopes that it will one day be real. But, I, also, know that you cannot enter into a spiritual relationship with God, without tears – tears of happiness, tears of shame, and tears of thanksgiving. Let all of Christianity, then, kneel before the throne of God in tears of praise for our Creator and our Redeemer. Let us all receive His spiritual power and blessings as He promised. And may the world be blessed by Him through us.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This is the sum of the law and the teachings of the prophets.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This is the sum of the law and the teachings of the prophets..

Jesus said that the Golden Rule was “the sum of the law and the teachings of the prophets”. He was saying that the law or commandments, and the message the prophets were conveying to the average person, could be explained (or be understood) by understanding the Golden Rule or Harvest Principle: Whatever one wants or does to another person will be done to them many times over. A person cannot want misfortune for another person without later experiencing misfortune in their own lives. By the same token, a person cannot want good fortune for another without later experiencing good fortune in their lives. We get angry about our lives or situations, take out our anger on others, and when we experience more misfortune, we feel vindicated in being angry with the world and people. We don’t naturally associate our wishes for another with what happens to us. We go through life blissfully unaware that we are the cause of our own misfortune, through wanting misfortune for others in our anger or lack of consideration for them. We are bringing misfortune into our lives by wanting or causing misfortune in another’s life. In turn, they return the anger and lack of consideration, bringing more misfortune into their own lives. We all respond to one another in anger and lack of concern for each other, and we blame the world for all our misfortune. Yet, it is each of us who is programming our future by the way we treat others in the present.

The answer to this dilemma is simple: We must learn to love one another. We must learn to care for one another. We must learn to be concerned with the well-being, the joy, the happiness, the success and the fulfillment of others. When we put ourselves last and others first in our lives, we reap the blessings that we want for others.

In spite of what the media and government tell us, Jesus can teach us how to find happiness, satisfaction and fulfillment in our lives. The Old Testament books prophecise about Jesus. The New Testament tells about his life, death and resurrection. My book, The Harvest Principle: It’s Not A Coincidence, condenses the teachings of the Bible, and puts it into simple, easily understandable language. My book doesn’t cover everything that the Bible covers, but it covers the foundation of our faith, and explains why Jesus said that the Golden Rule was the sum of the law and the teachings of the prophets.

I hope you will get a Bible, get my book and get into a church. There are answers to your questions, and things are not hopeless or meaningless. We were not meant to follow Satan. We are not alley cats. We were created in the image of God and meant to be His children and heir to all His blessings. We’ve had a noble beginning and we have a royal destiny awaiting us. This law is real, and our Father who created it is, also, real. Meet your destiny today.

Purpose Of Life

Our purpose in life is: To know and love God and all of His creations.
God is a creator. He is an artist working, not only in oils or stone, but in every medium in the universe. He created, not only to express Himself, but to express His love for His creation. He is the ultimate creator, the ultimate artist. We express our love for the artist by expressing our love and admiration for His works – Hi creatons. We express our love for God, when we love His creations and His works. We cannot love the artist without loving his works. Hence the Bible quote, “If a man says that He loves God, but hates his brother, he is a liar. For how can he say that he loves God, whom he has not seen, but does not love his brother, whom he has seen?”
Yes, love and admire the planets and stars of the universe. Love and admire the mountains, valleys, plains and oceans of our world. Love and admire the animals and vegetation of our world. But most of all, love and admire all people. They are His greatest creations. He loves every man, woman and child, and is proud of them all. If we love and understand God, then we will love His handywork as much as He does. Jesus said, “This command I give you, love ye one another as much as I have loved you.”
Love His creations. We are one of them.

An Audible Inner Voice

When my Westie, Calley, was alive, I would take her to a park less than a mile away. It’s a nice park with tennis courts and a soccer/baseball field. It, also, has a nice walking trail. Part of it goes through the woods and comes out to complete the circle through an open field of grass. Another loop of the trail circles completely in the woods and passes a running creek. That was our favorite spot, where Calley could chase squirrels and check out the flora and fauna of mother nature. I couldn’t bring myself to going back there since her death last July.
Today I mowed the lawn, trimmed and blew away the leaves and cuttings. It took about two hours. As I sat at the patio table having a glass of grape juice, the thought occurred to me that I could go for a walk in the park. It’s then that I heard an audible inner voice. It said, “Yeah, go for a walk, Daddy. I’ll go with you.” I’d heard God’s audible inner voice only about six times in the last ten years. He doesn’t speak to me often. I knew it wasn’t God’s voice. I know His voice. I knew instinctively that it was Calley. I guess in Heaven our pets will be able to speak to us psychically and we’ll be able to understand them. And they won’t have to read our body language or facial expressions to understand what we’re saying to them.
Some people may think that I’m silly listening to an audible inner voice. But, I know that if I had ignored God’s voice when He first spoke to me, He wouldn’t have spoken to me again. I’ve heard some people who say that they have a constant dialogue with God. I don’t know if it’s true or not. I wish I could illicit a response from God more often, but at least He knows that I’m waiting to hear from Him.
So when I heard that voice say, “Yeah, go for a walk, Daddy. I’ll go with you.”, I didn’t ignore it. Calley and I went for a walk today. I think it made her happy, just like it used to.  I know it changed my day for the better.

Layman’s 10 Commandments (reprint from e-mail)

Layman ‘s 10
Commandments.

Someone has written these
beautiful words. It ‘s a must read.

Try to understand the deep meaning of it.

They are like the ten commandments to follow in life all of the time!

1]Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that you pull out when
in trouble, but it is a “steering wheel” that directs the right
path throughout the journey.

2] So why is a Car ‘s WINDSHIELD so large and the Rear View Mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead
and Move on.

3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few minutes to burn, but it takes years to write.

4] All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they
will not last forever. If going wrong, don ‘t worry, they can ‘t last long either.

5] Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don ‘t forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need
a Base of Gold!

6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, “Relax, sweetheart, it ‘s just a bend, not the
end!

7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn’t solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: “Can there be anything
worse than losing eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your
vision!”

9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has
prayed for you.

10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow ‘s TROUBLES, it takes away today ‘s PEACE.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to
God.
